Old Brown Glue 5oz

Easy to use animal hide glue requires no glue pot. Old Brown Glue is a unique adhesive designed for use on all types of wooden furniture construction: Bottled as thick liquid animal hide glue made from 100% natural hydrolyzed collagen and urea without any additives. The glue must be warmed to best working viscosity at about 120°F in a water bath. Open time ranges from about 15 minutes to as much as 45 minutes depending on the temperature of the glue and the material being bonded. Gel point is about 75°F. Bonds are reversible – a trait exclusive to the hide glues and sought after for allowing repairs to fine furniture – use steam to loosen joints. Can be used for assembly or application of veneers. Easily cleaned up using cold water. Does not leave ‘glue spots’ so finishes are not affected. Apply to clean and dry surfaces and clamp for at least 12 hours. Complete bond is achieved in about 24 hrs. Shelf life is 18 months after manufacture when stored at room temperature (longer if refrigerated.) Bottles are dated for your convenience. USA.
